Horn Mountain UHF Repeater
This repeater site is located in Emery County, Utah on Horn Mountain above the cities of Orangeville and Castle Dale. The radio site is located right on the eastern edge of Horn Mountain which dramatically drops to the valley floor. This site consists of a GE Mastr II UHF repeater (ERP 200 w).
This site also contains a HF/2M/1.25M remote base consisting of a Yaesu FT-767GX for the HF frequencies and a Doug Hall Interface with a Kenwood TM-231A and a Kenwood TM331A. This repeater is controlled with a CAT 1000.
The VHF/UHF antennas are located on a 60' tower with an Inverted-Vee HF antenna for the HF part of the of the remote base.
This repeater covers most of western Emery County including the towns of Castle Dale, Orangeville, Huntington, Cleveland, Ferron, and further east into the San Rafael desert. It also covers the towns of Sunnyside and East Carbon, UT.
