BORDERLINE NEWS
A PUBLICATION OF THE BORDERLINE AMATEUR RADIO CLUB VOL. THREE NO 5 MAY 2000

A MIXED UP MONTH

Nuptials

Debbie, KC7MGB, club secretary and newsletter editor, has decided that wedded bliss is better than single blessedness and is tying a large knot on May 20, 2000. She will be married in Roosevelt to Tony Gregory of Preston, Idaho, and will be moving out of our midst.

Needless to say, we all join in wishing her Happiness and a belated "Happy Mother's Day". She becomes an instant mother.

One of her new duties will be to introduce her new husband and family to Amateur Radio. It may be fortunate that they will have Ross Distributing Co in their home town. Anything that you need to know, or buy, for amateur radio is available there from Ross Hansen.

Because of this event, it now becomes necessary to elect a new club secretary. The constitution provides that the election should be at the club meeting following the resignation, or move, of the officer. This means our regularly scheduled meeting the evening of the above action. Therefore, it behooves all club members to attend this meeting at the "Remember The Maine" park in the mouth of Dry Fork Canyon north of Maeser. Meeting will be a pot luck, election of a secretary, and an attempt to finalize Field Day activities.

FIELD DAY

There are still a number of items that need to be discussed concerning Field Day which will be held in Uintah Canyon, north of Neola, UT, the 24th and 25th of June. We are reserving the entire Wandin campground and it would be helpful to know the number of people who are planning on spending Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.

Saturday evening there will be our usual pot luck dinner. Lowell, AA7MU and Louise, KB7WEX, have agreed to cook the turkey, which will be furnished by the club. Those of you who have participated in the Saturday night dinner can vouch for how delicious it is. Remember, the entire family is invited to this little affair.

There are other aspects of Field Day which need discussing and for this reason we are hoping for a good turn out to the club meeting at 6:00 PM on May 20, 2000, at the "Remember The Maine" park in the mouth of Dry Fork Canyon.

Remember

One of the past Newsletters gave the means of killing a club. Lets see if we can't keep this one going and, in fact, re-vitalize it. SEE YOU AT THE MEETING!
